About the event
Keltewe - Music from the Andes brings the sounds of popular Andean music from South America to Alberta. Andean folk music has its roots in the countries of Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, southern Colombia, northern Chile, and northwestern Argentina. Keltewe is an artistic collaboration of Chilean musicians from Calgary.
Collectively, Keltewe plays more than 15 wind, string, and percussion instruments and a variety of styles and rhythms, which represent the diversity of Latin American folk music—a music forged from the legacy of the Inca Empire, European influence, and the power of African beats.
